hi I have a question about my sony mavica cd 500 i just received a sony lens to use on it and i attached it with the adaptor but whenever i take pics with the lens they are slightly blurred. I am not a very sophisiticated user (which means i am clueless lol) i use the automatic settings so the camera does all the focusing for me, I have no problem with my pictures unless i attach the new lens. Any advice would be appreciated

What "type" of lens did you receive - wide angle? Telephoto? MACRO? Other?

IIRC with some add-on lenses for some of the Mavica cameras, the camera's own lens had to be set to either full wide angle or full telephoto for the add-on lens to work properly. Also, I think on some models, the camera's lens had to be set to MACRO mode.

I don't recall which lenses on which cameras.

Added: According to the MVC-CD500 owner's manual, page 117, go into the camera's Setup, Camera 2, and turn "Conversion lens" on when using the VCL-MHG07 conversion lens

the lens i am using is a vcl-es06 wide angle conversion lens i will try changing the set up menu as you advice and see if that works thanks for your help

The owner's manual for the VCL-ES06 lens says to set the camera's lens to full wide angle.
